The sketch for this week’s Pals Challenge was a lot of fun.
Usually I think of card ideas at night while trying to get to sleep. There were a few roaming around my head but I finally settled on this one primarily because it was the one I remembered the next day!
The card base is 5″ x 5″ which gave me enough space to center the doily and still have room for the banner. The DSP is from the Cherry On Top Paper Stack. The circles die was used to cut two circle “rims” around the cupcake.
I used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Tree Builder Punch to create the cupcake. It is vanilla with chocolate sprinkles…my favorite. A bit of crystal effects on the frosting gave it some dimension. I am not sure if it is very apparent in this photo, but it does look pretty good on the card.
The inside of the card is “finished off” with another cupcake and a sweet sentiment from the same stamp set. The envelope was created using the Envelope Punch Board and is embellished also.
Once I made this card, I thought of many other color variations to use that would really make a super sweet birthday card perhaps given with some homemade cupcakes!
Thanks very much for stopping by and please come back again!
