The sketch for this week’s Global Design Projects weekly challenge was really fun to interpret.
My first inclination with this sketch was to use the Hearth & Home Thinlit Dies and create a window scene. But I wanted to challenge myself by not doing that and trying to come up with a more unique design.
I also wanted to use the Wonderland stamp set, primarily because I love the sentiments and the fonts in this set. However, the main reason I purchased this set was for the antlers….but I still haven’t used them. I thought that they might work on this card but decided on the pine cones to coordinate with the Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP. This paper is really glossy making it quite beautiful in gold and black.
The card is very elegant looking with the Gold Glimmer paper and gold embossing on the stamped images. After gluing all the pieces onto the front of the card and before popping the pine cone image with dimensionals, I put a black oval underneath the image so that when it was popped up there would be a hint of black underneath. It is very subtle but does make a difference. I used the sentiment from Wondrous Wreath stamp set inked in Memento Black for the inside sentiment.
I really love the formal look of this card and how sparkly it is. I’ve listed all the products used below.
Thanks so much for stopping by…I do appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Have a wonderful day,
Rosanne
You are correct, Rosanne, this is a very elegant card. Love the black, gold and white – and the wonderful way you’ve placed that banner. So beautiful! Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge – I’m glad you did.
What a gorgeous card!
