No challenges associated with this post, however, just a happy set of notecards. I really had a good time making this set. Polka dots truly make me happy! I will need to remember this when I’m having a bad day…just pull out some happy dotted DSP and everything should around…I will let you know if it works!
Since I am waiting on my order from the new Occasions catalog to arrive, I pulled out the polka dotted DSP from the Designer Series Paper Stacks. The colors are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Pear Pizzazz. All of these colors also have coordinating 1/4″ cotton ribbon. These are note sized cards using the Whisper White note cards. The only stamping are the sentiments from the Tin of Cards stamp set. I use these sentiments all the time. The envelopes flaps were given a little DSP to complete the set.
After stamping the sentiment on a 2 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of white cardstock, I used a die from the Butterfly Thinlits to cut the butterfly. Then I gave the butterfly a little bling by adding a few rhinestones for the body.
I would love to share this set . Please leave a comment and I will randomly choose a winner to send this set to. They will surely brighten your day!
Thanks so much for checking in on my post today and I wish you a Happy, Polka-Dotted Day!

Hi Ann, sometimes I get in over my head with details too. I think if the paper is super cute the design can be super simple.
So cute! Another great way to use the butterfly punch!
Thank you, Barb…This is actually the butterfly die and I was happy to use it this way. Sometimes thinking outside the box pays off!

Love this clean and simple (but adorable) design for a stamp a stack. Adding the dsp to the envelopes was clever.
Thanks Marlene, these cards go by very quickly once you gather all the materials and it is so easy to make several sets at once.
I must say I am a lot like Ann…I overthink too…these cards are short and sweet. A great creation; you have inspired me to think dots and butterflies! Thank you!
Go for it, Joan. Short, sweet and simple!

Lovely cards. How did you get the extra “line” around the butterfly cut out?
Thanks Susan, that extra lines just happens when you use the die.
I send a fun card to my nieces for their birthdays each year. I decided to use your design and send them a packet of 4 cards for their birthday’s. They all are 30-40 years old. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Your welcome, Juli. I’m sure your nieces will really appreciate this gift.

You’re welcome, Brenda. These are perfect for a teacher. I too have a school teacher daughter so I might just have to make a set for her! Thanks for the idea!
Did you layer the plain paper under the white cardstock before die cutting the butterfly? Thanks
First I covered the front of the notecard with the polka dot DSP then I layered a 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of white CS over a 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of colored CS then cut through both pieces with the die allowing the polka dots to show. Hope this helps.
Lindo felicitaciones, aunque empecé con este hobby a una edad ya grande, me reconforta y anima toda la imaginación, creación y emisión que le pones a cada trabajo, se siente tus feelings.
