Best Thoughts for CYCI #110

I hope that you are enjoying a little taste of spring like we are in PA.  The last few days have been fantastic and they promise there are more to come.  It’s no wonder my cards are all leaning towards flowers!

I am entering this card in Can You Case It’s sketch challenge….

The large hydrangea bloom in this set is awesome and makes a big impact on a card.  I stamped the flower in Versa Mark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then colored it using Wisteria Wonder ink and a blender pen.  This is becoming my favorite way to color, especially on embossed images.  The leaves were colored using Pear Pizzazz ink.  To give it a little sparkle, I used some Dazzling Details on the petals.

The sentiment is stamped in Perfect Plum and is from the Sheltering Tree stamp set and the little polka dot banner is from the Subtles DSP pack.   The background DSP is from the Farmer’s Market DSP collection and adds a little bit of rustic appeal.  I used a circle die from the Circles Collection Framelits and a Tea Lace Doilie to frame the flower.  The cardstock is Wisteria Wonder.

The inside sentiment is also from the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  I used the same Subtles Designer Series Paper stack for the inside of the card and the envelope liner.

Again, this is a card that could be used for many different occasions.  I always like to have a few of these on hand and ready to mail.  I am going to make a few more and experiment in other color hydrangeas.  I particularly like the blue shades.

Thank you for checking in on my project today and I hope this card brought a little bit of springtime to your day, even if the weather is not.
