Butterfly Birthday

I’m back today with my card entry for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Case the Designer Challenge…

SIP-Case-Challenge-53-800

WOW….which designer to case?  There is so much inspiration among the designers that it was a little difficult to decide.  However, I was especially drawn to Sandy’s cheerful card…

I love everything about this card from the straightforward design to the plaid background and the adorable sunflowers.  Here is my interpretation of this wonderful card….

The card base is Whisper White thick cardstock.  The Designer Series paper is from the Playful Palette DSP stack.  The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set.  I colored them with Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride ink and a blender pen.  Blending the two colors actually created three colors.  I punched each butterfly with the Elegant Butterfly punch.  I also punched it in Bermuda Bay cardstock to layer each  butterfly with.  The butterflies remind me of a pretty plaid color…do you see that, too?

The sentiment is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  Lastly, I added a few metallic enamel shapes.

The inside sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set.  This set has some wonderful sentiments and I know I will be using it quite a bit.

Thanks for stopping in today and I would love to hear what you think of my take on Sandy’s delightful card.

Please take care.

  1. What beautiful butterflies! They look awesome with the DSP you chose. I have to go back and look…I didn’t remember that particular paper in the Playful Palette and there is so much to do with it! I like the sunflowers with it too. I have to say that I adore how you do the inside of your cards and I am inspired to step my cards up inside now too!!! Hope you are enjoying your day ????

    • Hi Ann, thank you very much…you are so kind to comment. The Playful Palette has such a variety of designs that can be used in so many different ways. I am challenging myself to use as much of my DSP as possible this year so I will really be diving into this collection. I actually enjoy embellishing the inside of my cards as much as the front. I think you will too.
