An Early Father’s Day

Today was a little like Christmas for me.  Probably better than Christmas because no one gives me Stampin’ Up! presents at Christmas.  My new catalog order arrived this morning!  I actually placed it yesterday morning and for the first time ever had it shipped next day….TOTALLY worth it!  I can’t wait to dive in but I want to do a little organizing first.

Today’s card is my entry to the Can You Case It #122 sketch challenge.

I decided to get a jump on my Father’s Day card for my husband.

Masculine cards are probably the most difficult type of card for me to create and I don’t have that many appropriate stamp sets.  For this card, I turned to the stamp set with the longest staying power in the catalog, Lovely As A Tree.  Although it’s not truly a masculine set, I think it works.

The card base is Chocolate Chip embossed with the Boho Chic embossing folder.  The center panel is Very Vanilla with a border of Crumb Cake.

I first stamped the tree line image in Soft Suede directly onto the Vanilla panel.  Then I stamped it again in Versa Mark and embossed it with the new Copper embossing powder and fussy cut it and placed it over the stamped image with dimensionals.  The Copper embossing powder really gives it such a rich look.  The sentiment, from the retired stamp set Happy Birthday Everyone, is stamped in Basic Black.  A few Chocolate Chip candy dots (also now retired) finish it off.

The inside sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set.

I’m happy to have this card done with so much time to spare as I’m usually scrambling at the last minute.  I know my husband will really like it.  I’ve been stamping for about 15 years now and he’s still one of my biggest fans!  He also s

Thanks very much for taking the time to look in on my project today.

Take care,
