“Homemade DSP” for PPA #303

Happy Friday…this sure was a short week but there’s no complaining here!  My project today is my entry for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge….

After looking through my paper stash and realizing that I didn’t have any DSP with these colors, I decided to make my own.  I am pretty happy with the results and will definitely be doing this again.

The card base is Sahara Sand with a mat of Night of Navy.  The stamped layer is Whisper White.  Flower Shop stamp set took center stage with two of the flower images stamped randomly in Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand.  Then I used the small flower image from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, inked in Night of Navy, to fill in the white space.  With as much as I’ve used the Butterfly Basics stamp set (and it is one of my favorites), this little image has never been inked.   Often times there are hidden gems among these stamp sets!

The sentiment banner is Sahara Sand with a border of the retired Mint Macaron Dotted Lace Trim.  I thought that this little peek of lace really lent a pretty touch.  The sentiment, from the Cottage Greetings stamped set, is stamped in Night of Navy.  The Night of Navy candy dots finish it off.

The inside sentiment is also from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.  Since I like to coordinate the envelope in some way with the card, I  simply recreated the design on the envelope flap.

I hope you enjoyed this project and will consider creating your own DSP on a card…the possibilities are absolutely endless and your card will truly be a one of a kind!  If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.  I love receiving comments and am always happy to respond.
