Today’s share is another masculine card. I was happy to participate in the Paper Players theme challenge, which is Father’s Day….
This is the second Father’s Day card I’ve made. My dad is no longer here, so the only father on my list is my husband, Steve and he is a wonderful man…so I guess he gets two cards this year!
This card contains current product, retired product and non-SU product.
The card base is Basic Black and the mat is from the retired DSP pack, Go Wild. I cut two ovals in Black and Tip Top Taupe to frame the deer head. I love this deer head. It’s a punch that I purchased at Hobby Lobby sometime ago and this is the first opportunity I’ve had to use it. Stampin’ Up! had a similar image in a Christmas stamp set a few years ago.
The banner is stamped with a sentiment from the retired Happy Birthday Everyone stamp set and cut with the banner framelit from the Large Numbers framelits. A couple of retired candy dots are added to the banner. I popped the deer head up with dimensionals and then popped the whole frame up again on the card.
The inside of the card and the envelope are embellished with a thin strip of cardstock and DSP.
Since this paper is already retired and I had a few other pieces, I made another in a slightly different color. Here are both versions….
Well I think that’s it for Father’s Day for me. Steve’s birthday is in August so that’s probably the next masculine card I’ll be making or maybe he won’t notice if I just give him the second version!
Thanks very much for looking in today.
Until next time…take care,
Rosanne
I love how you do the inside of your cards!!! This is an awesome card !!!!
Thanks very much for the lovely comment, Ann!
Rosanne, these are both fantastic! I love that DSP for your background! Perfect masculine cards! So happy you joined my theme challenge at The Paper Players this week! XX
These are fabulous! I couldn’t pick a favorite if I had to, they’re both wonderful….the punch, the banner, the DSP…all terrific! You could probably save one card for next year…if your DH is like mine (or me!) he won’t remember that you gave him a similar card this year, LOL! So glad you shared these with us at the Paper Players this week!
Perfection! Perfectly crisp and tailored…..and fabulous DSP for the occasion! Glad you shared these at the Paper Players!
You are rockin’ the challenges lately! Congratulations on another win!
