I took a little break from the seasonal cards I’ve been creating to make this classic looking birthday card featuring the Happy Birthday Thinlit. This is one die that will never go out of style and can be used to make so many different kinds of birthday cards. I will be using this long after it retires and possibly long after I retire, too!
Here’s the details
- The A2 card base (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) is Crumb Cake card stock with a mat of Whisper White card stock cut 1/4″ smaller.
- The next panel is Gold Foil cut at 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″. This is popped onto the Whisper White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Another Crumb Cake panel is cut at 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and is stamped with an image from Timeless Textures stamp set in Crumb Cake ink to create a subtle background.
- The Happy Birthday sentiment was cut twice…once in Gold Foil and once using a piece of fun foam. When gluing together, I offset them just a bit for a pretty 3D shadow effect.
- A few gold sequins give just enough added embellishment. Although I think the card would like just as nice without them.
- The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set. If you want a set that has a variety of sentiments for many occasions, this is the one!
- Using the same stamped image I used on the front of the card, I simply embellished the inside and the envelope to tie the whole project together.
Like I said above, this Happy Birthday Thinlit really packs a BIG bang on any card you would create!
