Welcome to another monthly installment of CASEing Coast to Coast. Karen Hallam and I have been having such a good time sharing this fun exercise each month. Karen lives on the West Coast (CA) and I live on the East Coast (PA), thus the Coast to Coast. Each month we alternate creating a project for the other to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). This month was my turn to come up with a card.
My card features the Blossoms in Bloom bundle. While I used both the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set for the sentiment, the star of this card is the Many Layered Blossoms dies.
Materials & Measurements
- Whisper White Thick card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White card stock: 4″ x 5 1/4″, 3 3/4″ x 5″ (inside)
- Bumble Bee card stock: 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside)
- Flowers for Every Season DSP: 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
Details
- Glue the DSP pattern to the center of the Whisper White card base.
- Cut a window using the 3rd largest die from the Stitched Rectangles dies in the center of the Whisper White panel.
- Die cut the flower outline die in Whisper White thick card stock. You could use regular Whisper White card stock, however, the thick card stock is a bit sturdier and gives a little more dimension.
- Position the flower die cut and glue to the back of the stitched rectangle filling most of the frame.
- Adhere the frame over the DSP using Foam Adhesive Strips.
- Stamp the sentiment in Versa Mark ink on Basic Black card stock and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
- The sentiment is cut with a die from the All Dressed Up dies. Many of the die sets have very useful label dies that are perfect for cutting out sentiments.
- I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.
- As a little finishing touch, I stamped and punched a small butterfly from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet punch. The butterfly is stamped in black and Balmy Blue ink.
- A simple sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set and a little DSP and coordinating card stock finish the inside.
- DSP and a thin strip of black card stock on the envelope flap ties it all together.
I appreciate the time you took to look at my project today. Please take a virtual trip across the country to visit Karen at stampinghabit.com to see her creative CASE of this card.
