Pals Blog Hop – Celebrate Sunflowers Fun Fold Birthday

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “Gifts From the Garden.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My card share today features one of my new favorite bundles, Celebrate Sunflowers.  I’ve been creating with these products pretty much non-stop for the last week and have a lot of projects to share soon.  This set offers everything that I love to create with:  large floral images with coordinating smaller images, versatile sentiments in a pretty font, dies that coordinate with the stamped images as well as stand-alone intricate dies, and images that are fun to color.  Yep, it basically has it all!

I’m calling today’s card a Z-Fold plus card.  Plus because it has an added panel for an inside sentiment like a regular A2 card.  I used two patterns from the 2020-2021 In-Color 6 x 6 DSP collection.  The big, bold sunflower was stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.  After cutting the flower and leaves with the coordinating Sunflower`Dies, I glued them to Basic Black card stock and cut a border around them.  These are glued to the front panel.

Opened up the card reveals the sentiment which is also heat embossed, hand cut, matted and glued to the first inside panel.  Since when opened the large panel is blank, I stamped and masked a collection of smaller sunflowers and colored them with Stampin’ Blends.  The rhinestones were colored with a black Sharpie.

Here is the inside panel…the sentiment is a combination of two stamped images from the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  It’s a great set for coordinating sentiments.  It also has a couple sketchy floral images.

My sister has a July birthday and I’m planning on delivering this card to her with a bouquet of real sunflowers.  I’m looking forward to seeing her, if even at a 6 ft. distance.  We live close to each other but have not spent any time together since March.  We do talk on the phone for hours at a time but it’s still not the same!

I’ve been enjoying the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and coordinating Sunflower dies a lot since they debuted in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  This is one of my favorite bundles in the catalog.  I guess you can say that I’ve been having my own sunflower celebration in the craft room!  As part of that celebration, I’ve created a set of tutorials featuring this bundle.

Stampin Up Celebrate Sunflowers July Tutorials - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

The projects in this tutorial consist of a Thank You card, a Unique Fold Gift Card Holder, Z Fun Fold Birthday card and a Post-It Note Holder all created using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.  Each tutorial is available as a PDF with step by step instructions and photos. And I’d love to share these with you.  Here’s how you can get them…

  • FREE with an online order of $50 or more (before tax & shipping).
  • Any order of $75 or more (before tax & shipping) will receive the FREE  tutorials as well as an additional 3D handmade gift featuring this bundle.
  • All (any size) online orders always receive a handmade card that can be repurposed.
  • If you’re a demo and do not wish to place an order, you can purchase the tutorial package for $10.00 by submitting payment via PayPal “send to a friend” option.  My PayPal address is romulhern@gmail.com.

I’m still note finished creating with this bundle, so if you’re looking for more ideas be sure to stop back often.    I know that these happy flowers are going to take me through the rest of Summer and into Fall.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop, which will be August 12th when our theme is “My Happiest Season.” The Design Team will showcase projects inspired by their favorite seasonal time of the year. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

I love this card but am a little confused as to how you put it together. I’ve done Z fold and tent fold cards before but I’m not an expert – I’m confused as to how you put it together since it looks like you used just one white card base. Could you explain, show more pictures, share card cuts?? Thanks

  11. Your coloring and masking and wonderful! You are the queen of fussy cutting! The black mats on everything really make each element pop right off the card. Beautiful!

  18. Hi Rosanne,
I just love your card. Is there a possibility that you can give me the measurements used. When I look at Z fold tutorials all the girls seem to make the cards going horitzonally. I love your Z Fold Plus and it’s vertical.
Thanks in advance and I really appreciate it.
    Ann

    • Thank you, Ann. Unfortunately, I can’t share the measurements as the Z Fold is one of my ordering bonus tutorials this month. You can see the details on my 7/13 post.

  19. Love your card. It’s bright, sunny and makes me smile. That fancy fold is one of my favs. Your sister will love displaying it.

  20. Awesome posts with lots of cool stuff.
