Beautiful Autumn Thank You Notes

Stampin Up Beautiful Autumn Thank You Notes - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I’m ready to say goodbye to summer.  This certainly wasn’t a normal summer by a long stretch for us and I’m not nearly as sad to let it go as I normally would be.  On the bright side, I’ve been playing with some of my new products from the August-December mini catalog.  One of the sets that I’m really enjoying right now is the Beautiful Autumn bundle.  This bundle consists of the Beautiful Autumn stamp set and coordinating, Autumn Punch Pack.

I created a set of six Thank You notes…2 each of 3 different patterns from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper collection.

Materials & Measurements

  • Very Vanilla card base:         8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Very Vanilla card stock:        5 1/4″ x 4″ (embossed)
  • Plaid Tidings DSP:                 5 1/4″ x 2″
  • Bumble Bee, Rich Razzleberry & Pumpkin Pie card stock:  5 1/4″ x 1/8″, cut 2 of each color

Details

  • Emboss the 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder.
  • Glue the DSP pattern to the center of the embossed panel, adding the think strips of color coordinated card stock to the create a border.

  • Using a die from the Painted Labels dies, cut the “wreath” out in Soft Suede card stock.
  • Cut a stitched circle from Very Vanilla card stock using a die from the Stitched Shapes dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the stitched circle in Early Espresso ink.  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set.  However, I cut the words apart in order to fit them on the circle.  You can easily line them back up to stamp them on the same line.
  • The stitched circle is glued to the wreath and then popped on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • To decorate the wreath, I stamped most of the small images from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set in Early Espresso.  This is a 2 step stamp set (say that fast!), so it was fast and easy to get color onto the leaves and pinecones.  Not to mention, it was so relaxing as I used this method to stamp a couple of pages of these little images.
  • I was able to punch out the maple and oak leaf with the coordinating punch from the Autumn Punch Pack.  The other images were hand cut.
  • All these images are glued directly to the wreath.
  • Lastly, I created bow using Linen Thread and adhered it with a mini glue dot.

  • I used DSP and card stock scraps to embellish the envelope…so simple yet makes such a pretty statement.

Which is your favorite….

While it’s hard to choose which card is my favorite since I chose the colors, I’m leaning towards the card on the right with the Bumble Bee trim.  Do you have a favorite from the three patterns?  If so, please leave me a comment letting me know which you would choose.  I’ll select a random winner and send that card to you.

  1. Beautiful and you are so right….summer was a crazy time for all and I say…..BRING ON FALL! Live the simplicity of this design but then the added Rosanne touches takes them over the top!

  2. All three are beautiful, if I had to pick my favorite I would go with the middle one.

  3. They are gorgeous. I love all of them but maybe the red one best.

  4. I love the bright orange one in the middle! Thank you for sharing your lovely ideas!

  5. They are all beautiful, Rosanne! The orange plaid (middle card) speaks to me a bit more. I subscribe to your blog……..love your style! I found out about you some years back when Brian King had one of his swaps. I received your card and you received mine. ? Happy fall!

  6. Love the simple design! You do beautiful work. My favorite is the teal colored one!

  7. These are fabulous! I love each and every combination! You have inspired me to stamp and punch some leaves and acorns today! And cut apart that stamp…..

  8. I love your cards. Beautiful design. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Rosanne, I just realized I had subscribed to your blog but haven’t received it. I will try again. I love your creations. This card is perfect for thank you cards but I want to try it as a birthday card. I have this set and punches that came the other day. Time to break them out and play. These are all beautiful but that diagonal plaid (rich raspberry?) One edged out the others. A neighbor has a Japaneses maple and the leaves look similar to this card. I have used the middle paper not sure if I have any more left. Anyway, I love this card and the envelope is the best!

  10. They are all so beautiful, too hard to say which is my favorite. If I was to receive any one of them I would be happy. Summer was very strange and just way too hot. Good for swimming but not doing the things I would have liked to get done. Happy fall!!!

  11. Christine Lazarides

  12. Love the fall colors that pop on vanilla card stock!

  13. What lovely cards. You have inspired me today.
