Slimline Envelope Tutorials

If you’ve been a follower for the past few months, you know that I have fully embraced the slimline card trend.  I really enjoy making both standard slimline as well as mini slimline cards.  I’ve made several of both, but the mini slimline is my favorite.

When slimline trend first hit the scene, I bought “resume” envelopes from an office supply store and used those for a while.  But I found they were too big for the size card I was comfortable with.  And when I started creating mini slimlines, I needed envelopes for those.  So I came up with a template for both a standard and mini slimline.

My standard size slimline measures 8″ x 3 1/2″.  The envelope starts with an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of 32lb paper.  I found that using card stock was too heavy and regular 20lb copy paper seemed to light.  32lb paper seems to work perfectly and has a nice smooth finish. You can find the paper I use HERE.

Here are a couple standard slimline cards and envelopes.

My mini slimline measures 6″ x 3 1/2″.  The envelope starts with an 8″ x 9″ sheet of 32lb paper.

And here are a few mini slimline I created.

Are you aware of a website called envelope generator? You can get the exact size of paper to use and if using a punch board, where the first punch should be made.

Cuts out alot of guess work.

  2. Thank you for the slim line mini envelope pattern
Now will it go through USPS OK?
