It’s time for another cross country CASEing adventure with Karen Hallam in CA and myself here in PA. Each month, Karen and I take a turn CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) the other’s card, theme, colors, layout or technique. This month, Karen decided we would create a shadowbox card. Here’s Karen’s card…
You can read all the details on this classically beautiful Christmas shadowbox card HERE.
One of the things I enjoy best about this monthly collaboration is seeing our different interpretations. Here’s what I came up with…
To create the shadowbox, I followed an online tutorial by Jennifer McGuire which was very easy to follow. In fact, the most difficult thing about this card was deciding what stamp set to use. Since I’ve had this set for awhile without using it, I chose to use the Stampin’ Up! set, Nuts About Squirrels. I colored these cute critters using Stampin’ Blends and Copic markers.
I created the “window” using the second largest die in the SU Stitched Rectangle dies. The leaf patterned paper is from my stash. To give the paper a little more depth, I sponged it with Crushed Curry ink.
I stamped the sentiment on the back of the shadowbox. With these sentiments, this card can be sent for a variety of occasions: Get Well, Just Because, Friendship, etc.
If you haven’t been to Karen’s blog, please head over to see her Christmas shadowbox.
Thanks very much for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed “traveling” with us this month.
