Clean & Simple Magnolia Birthday

Neat & Tangled Magnolia Birthday Card -Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Happy Wednesday!  It’s mid-week and I’m looking forward to the weekend already.  This time of year always seems to go by so slowly.  The winter doldrums have definitely settled in here.  The month of February seems a lot like a Wednesday…once you get over it, there’s something to look forward to. In the case of February, it’s Spring.

I hope today’s card will chase away some of the winter blahs.  While digging into some of my long neglected stamps, I found this oh so pretty set.  It’s Neat & Tangled’s Magnolia.  Unfortunately, Neat & Tangled is no longer in business.  I always loved Danielle’s stamps and dies.  I also miss attending her classes.  Since they were fairly local, my friends from MD, DE & PA always looked forward to getting together for them.  But fortunately, I still have many Neat & Tangled sets to create with.

Neat & Tangled Magnolia Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping I colored the flowers using Copic markers and cut them on my Scan n’ Cut.  I adhered them to a piece of pink vellum and hand cut around to create a pretty shadow.  I layered the embossed background which is  the Tufted Textured embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! on a card base of SU’s Fresh Freesia cardstock.  The sentiment is from SU’s Sweet as a Peach stamp set and is heat embossed.

I playing along with The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge: PP576.  I can go two ways: (1) CAS, flower, birthday OR (2) die cut, flower, birthday.

As always, thanks for stopping by today!

Take care,

Rosanne

  3. So pretty. Your coloring looks great and the embossed background is so pretty.

  4. I love how you used the colored vellum to create a shadow effect around the die-cut flowers–that’s a technique I’ve never seen before and it looks marvelous. That tufty embossing folder is the perfect backdrop for your sweet flowers, too. Thanks for playing along with us at The Paper Players!
