It’s back to school week here and for the first time in years, I’m home! While I’m having some mixed emotions about not returning to school, I’m also looking forward to more crafting time. Nevertheless, I love everything about going back to school, especially buying school supplies. I may have purchased a few this year, too…just because!
Using mostly (maybe all) retired SU products, I created today’s card for a former colleague of mine who is returning to school. One of my favorite SU bundles is the Harvest Hellos. I started with a black card base followed by an embossed panel using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I punched the apples with the Apple Builder punch in Real Red card stock and inked it very subtly around the edges, then gave it a little detail with a white gel pen. The sentiment is also from Harvest Hellos and the DSP is Crushed Curry. The alphabet paper is from Echo Park.
I took my layout inspiration from Ann Marie’s sketch challenge at The Paper Players HERE…
…and more inspiration came from the Tic Tac Toe #176 challenge HERE…
I covered a few different ways on the board. The 3rd column down: Alphabets or Letters, Embossing, Yellow and the 3rd row across: Checks/Gingham, Back to School Theme, Yellow and diagonally: Alphabets or Letters, Red, Checks/Gingham. This was a fun board…thanks LeAnne!
…And Just Us Girls Photo Week #647 Challenge HERE…
While I’ll miss seeing all my reading buddies in the school library this year, I’m looking forward to spending much more time with this little Pre-K guy…my grandson Jack!
Thanks for popping in today and I hope your week is going well.
