Elfin’ Fun Holiday Card

I mentioned in my last post that I was recently lacking in stamping mojo.   I’m happy to say…it’s definitely back and I’m hoping it’s here to stay!  Over the past 24 hours, I created four holiday cards.  I think the fact that the holidays are fast approaching has spurred me on a bit.  I have a fun card to share featuring My Favorite Things: Santa’s Elves stamps and dies.

I know there’s a lot of red and green as well as patterns here but I still had SU’s Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series paper out from my last card.  The colors and patterns in this collection scream Christmas to me and I thought they would make a fun card.

Measurements

  • White card base:  4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Real Red card stock: 4 1/8″ x 5 5/8″
  • Pattern Paper:  4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Real Red card stock:  2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ & 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ (banner on front)
  • White card stock:  2 3/8″ x 3 3/8″

I stamped and heat embossed the elf.  Then stamped it again on a piece of patterned paper and paper pieced his shirt and hat while coloring the rest of him.  I added some glittered stickles to the hat rim and bell on the hat.  I also added some crystal effects to the ornament.  I colored two small pearls with a black Sharpie and added them as buttons to the front of his shirt.  I kind of get lost in these little details!

The sentiment is from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set (retired SU) and cut with a small round die, then layered with a scallop circle.

The inside sentiment is from a set a purchased a while ago from Michaels.  Another flagged banner adds a little embellishment.

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe #187 Challenge HERE

I chose the diagonal: Green, Free, Elf

As always, thank you for stopping by.  I’ll be back soon with another cute holiday card.

Take care,

Rosanne

  1. Rosanne… your mojo is definitely in play! Love the colors. Love that your paper pieced that adorable elf. Great card. Thanks so much for joining and sharing at Tic Tac Toe this week.
