Last week I posted a card HERE featuring this pattern from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper collection. While making that card, I had some leftover papers that I didn’t want to just file away to never be used again. So in an effort to make a different looking card, I colored the flowers using Stampin’ Blends. My color choice was easy as Fresh Freesia seems to be my favorite color these days along with the fact that it’s days are numbered with the new In-Colors debuting soon.
Materials & Measurement
- Fresh Freesia card base: cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 5 1/2″
- Basic Black card stock: cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
- DSP pattern: cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Basic Black card stock strips: cut at 4″ x 1/8″ (cut 2)
- Fresh Freesia embossed panel: cut at 4″ x 1 1/4″
Details
- Color the flowers in the DSP. I used Stampin’ Blends.
- Layer the Basic Black card stock and DSP onto the card base and glue
- Emboss the Fresh Freesia panel using the crosshatch folder from the Basic 3D Embossing Folder set available in the Online Exclusives. Glue to the center of the card.
- Add the thin Basic Black strips to the top and bottom of the embossed panel
- Cut a Stitched Rectangle and stamp the sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set. Glue to the embossed panel
- Cut and color a floral image from the DSP. Attach to the sentiment panel with dimensionals.
- Add a few In-Color Jewels.
- I combined two sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set for the inside.
- Add an embossed panel and strip of black cardstock, along with a cut and colored flower for embellishment.
I really like these black and white DSP patterns as it gives you the opportunity to color or leave as is for two completely different looks.
Thanks for checking in today. Have a wonderful day.
Take care,
Rosanne
