Back to School with CASE-ing Coast to Coast

Can it really be time to go back to school!?  In prior years, I would be very conflicted about going back…excited for the new school year and seeing all the students again but wishing the summer didn’t fly by.  Even though I’m retired, I still miss the excitement of a new school year.  Karen Hallam in CA and myself here in PA are both retired educators, so Karen’s theme idea of Back to School could not have been more appropriate for this month’s CASE-ing Coast to Coast.

Let’s take a look at Karen’s creative projects…

All the details can be found on Karen’s blog HERE.

Coincidentally, I also chose one of the same stamp sets, Bird’s Eye View, to create my card.

I paired the Bird’s Eye View stamp set with the Alphabet a la Mode dies and the Wonderful Thoughts stamps and dies for the sentiment. The coloring is done with a variety of Stampin’ blends.  The letters are cut with colored card stock as well as thick white card stock.  I offset and glued the colored letters to the white to give it a little more dimension.

The inside sentiment is from the Zany Zoo stamp set.

I had a very special little boy in mind while creating this card.  My grandson, Jack, will be starting Kindergarten next week.  While I don’t yet have a first day of school picture, here is Jack on his first day of camp last week at his new school.  He had the first day jitters but came home loving it.  Hopefully, he’ll be more relaxed on his first day of “real” school next week.

Thanks for stopping by and please be sure to take a trip west to check out Karen’s projects.

Take care,

Rosanne
