Patchwork Quilt Valentine Card – #tttc239

It’s the first Tic Tac Toe Thursday of the New Year!  This year we’re going to a two week team rotation.  This means that each challenge board will remain open for two weeks instead of one to give you more time to create and participate.  I think this was a great idea.  For this first challenge of 2024, it was Team O’s challenge to create for and Jeanie came up with a board chock full of elements to spark that Valentine mojo.

Here’s my Valentine card…

Patchwork Heart Valentine Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

My card can qualify in several different ways: (1) Heart, Red, Punch or Die Cut, (2) Heart, Patterned Paper, Ribbon, (3) Red, Patterned Paper, Valentine

I found my inspiration for today’s card from this photo I found on Pinterest.

It was fun to recreate the quilted heart on paper.  I found the perfect pad of paper at Target’s Dollar Spot.  It had all the coordinating patterns in the same color, making it very easy to create the quilted pattern.  I used the new SU Softly Sophisticated embossing folder, which was a free Sale-a-bration item to emboss the red card panel as well as the heart. The embossing gives such pretty texture.  The heart dies are from Spellbinders Lace Heart dies.  And the sentiment is from SU’s (retired) Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Here’s a peek inside…

I hope you’ll head over the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see what my teammates on Team O created.  And I hope you’ll be inspired to play along with us, especially since you have an extra week now.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your week.  Tomorrow we’re expecting our second snow storm this week here in PA.  It is winter, after all!

Take care,

  1. Beautiful card Roseanne. Love your patchwork heart and all the other lovely details on your card.

  2. I love how all the details on this go together so perfectly – the patchwork with the doily and the embossing folder that reminds me of a wedding ring quilt pattern. Lovely card!

  3. Gorgeous sweet Valentines Day card!

  4. GREAT card, Rosanne! I haven’t thought of using the “quilting” technique in a long time. I think I’ll try it again! Your quilted heart is beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing!
