The Pals challenge this week is a sketch challenge. This was a great sketch to work with.
This sketch just lended itself to so many variations, however, I used the sketch quite literally. First I chose my card background and let that dictate the cardstock colors I would use. For this card, the base is 5″ x 5″ black cardstock with the DSP pattern trimmed 1/4″ smaller all around. This butterfly pattern is so sweet and with all the super butterfly stamps, punches and framelits Stampin’ Up has available now was so easy to coordinate. The pattern is from the Pretty Petals 6″ x 6″ DSP Stack. There is not a pattern in this set that I don’t love. I’m sure I will go through this stack rather quickly…but the good thing is that it will be around for a whole year to order more!
Once I decided on the DSP, I chose a few colors from it for the cardstock for the card base as well as the banners. The banners are Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron and Pacific Point. They are cut at 3/4″ and 1/2″ and flagged at the bottom with the 1″ Square Punch. The sentiment banner is stamped with my favorite sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts stamp set. I love the cursive font!
The butterfly was stamped using the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch. The inside was also stamped using the same butterfly. Each butterfly was embellished with a few small Rhinestones.
I used the envelope punch board to create a perfectly sized envelope for this card. The envelope is simply embellished with a scrap piece of DSP and cardstock.
Thanks so much for looking in on my project and I hope you will stop by again soon.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Rosanne
