CASEing Coast to Coast: Use Your “Scraps”

Welcome to the July edition of CASEing Coast to Coast with Karen Hallam on the West Coast (CA) and myself here on the East Coast (PA).  Our cross-country stamping adventure is taking a little different course this month.  We decided that it was time to use up some of our scraps to come up with a card.  What card maker doesn’t have a lot of scraps.  For myself, I find it hard to throw even the smallest piece of patterned paper away because who knows when you’ll need just that one small pattern…right?!  So needless to say, this was a fun challenge because I had a LOT to work with!!

Stampin' Up Irresistible Blooms Patchwork Friendship Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Remember this Designer Series Paper?  Hello Irresistible was and still is one of my all-time favorite collections.  When it was first released, I created a lot of projects with it and then, well those half used pieces of DSP went untouched…until now.  I created this patchwork friendship card using just used patterns and did not cut into any uncut pieces.  I found this to be very satisfying!

Here’s a look at the inside, which is also embellished with scraps.  The flowers and leaves on the card front and inside were cut using the coordinating dies.  I cut a bunch of these when I first received the paper and these were “leftovers” so that makes them scraps also, I guess.

Once I created this card, I couldn’t stop.  So I created two more cards using different DSP that I’ll post on Friday along with all the cutting dimensions…so be sure to stop by.  For now, be sure to head over to Karen’s blog to see her special “scrappy” card.  I’m sure you’ll love it!

Take care,

Rosanne
