My Favorite Snow Buddy

I’m popping in today with a fun card for the Paper Players blog tic tac toe challenge.  Here’s the challenge board…

I chose to follow the right side down: scene, sparkle, blue.

I created this cute little snow scene using My Favorite Things Snow Buddy stamp set and dies.

Although this is not a true shaker card as nothing is “shakable”.  I created part of the scene behind a circle die cut panel with clear acetate. Before this panel is adhered with dimensionals, I glued the snowman directly to the snow patterned paper.   I had a good time coloring and paper piecing (snowman hat and scarf, dog scarf).  It may not be apparent in the photo, the snow drift was heat embossed with thick clear embossing powder which gave it a shiny texture.  This is also adhered to the inside of the die cut circle. The puppy is tucked into the outside of the circle and the fence is glued to the outside front.  I added some sparkle to the snow on the fence with glitter glue.  Digging into my embellishment stash, I found these iridescent snowflake which I found at Target’s Dollar Spot and glued them around the outside of the card.

My Favorite Things Snow Buddy Just Because Card- Rosanne Mulhern

I added another sentiment and cute image from the Snow Buddy stamp set to the inside.

So here’s my inspiration for this fun card which I’m sending to my grandson Jack!  We had a substantial (2 snow days) snowstorm here in PA earlier in the week and Jack had a great time playing in it.

Thanks very much for stopping by today…I hope you have a wonderful day!

Take care,

Rosanne

  1. This is beyond adorable, Rosanne! And Jack is so cute in his snowsuit 🙂

  2. Adorable scene! I love the paper piecing on the snowman- the plaid is perfect! The sparkly elements are really fun and I bet look wonderful IRL! Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players!

  3. Snow cool! I love this. Shaker cards can be messy when the adhesive fails. I had a favorite one I received a few years ago. I brought it out during the holidays to display and I took it out of the envelope and I had mica flakes and snowflakes all over me and the carpet. Anyway, this is so fun from the paper piecing to the coloring and the stamp set itself. Love this as I check out your post while we are having another snow storm.

  4. your card is adorable and so is your grandson! thank you for sharing! God bless.

  5. Absolutely adorable, Rosanne! These have to be the cutest images ever! I adore the little scene you’ve created. And your grandson…what a cutie!!! Thank you so much for playing with The Paper Players this week!
